Апстракт:
Insulin pump therapy reduces glucose variability and might influence improvement of endothelial function in type 1 diabetes (T1DM). Aim of our study was to investigate effect of the advanced insulin pump options use on glycemic control. Data were downloaded from MiniMed Paradigm® (Medtronic) insulin pumps for 36 patients by CareLink Pro ® software for therapy management in T1DM on the personal computer. The study did not show statistical difference neither in HbA1c (6.63% ± 0.85 vs. 6.54 ± 1.08, p=0.786) nor in number of hypoglicemic episodes per week (2.83 ± 1.1 vs. 2.44 ± 1.58) between the groups. There was significant lesser postprandial glycemic rise after breakfast in group of patients who used advanced insulin pump options. Regular re-educations for both patients and diabetologists are needed to improve the use of all advanced insulin pump options with intention to improve glycemic control in T1DM.
